close a work order

Why can’t you adjust the header level quantity on a work order after it has been built, we a lot of work orders were someone changed the line level quantity but not the header level qty, so the work order is in status of build but stock is still ‘on order’ because not enough was built. Any ideas on how to fix? Example, Work Order for an assembly, header level is 10,000 but the components were changed to 8,640 which were built, but now 1360 is still showing as on order

I am not sure why it won’t let you modify the quantity, but why cant you just close the work order or do another build to the full qty?

I think the appropriate action here is to modify the assembly build header level first, then the work order will not show as completely built.

Can’t edit the header, quantity field is greyed out.  We ended up changing the location on the WO to a location we don’t use so the 1360 does not show up on our demand planning reports.  It’s a silly work around but our only option

Thank you so much for sharing this solution. I was trying changing the start and end dates, but this is actually much cleaner.
