Wrong Account Type in Account

Turns out that in the sandbox environment of a project, there was a wrong account type (fixed assets instead of other current assets) and transactions have been posted already in sandbox, making it impossible to change the account type. The account has been fixed in production as no transactions were posted and I know a refresh will do the trick but the refresh won’t happen for a while and we need to have the account fixed in Sandbox meanwhile.
What do you suggest would be the best way to proceed in order to fix this?
