Workflow condition – Comparing value against a custom list value

Workflow condition - Comparing value against a custom list value

I’m trying to create an all-in-one workflow for all of our subsidiaries, so I’ve created a custom list on the employee record with a list of subsidiaries.  I want to compare the subsidiary of the journal entry against this list as a condition for the approve button.

This works when only one subsidiary is chosen, but not when multiple subsidiaries are chosen.  Any ideas on how to get around this limitation?

Thanks!

Not certain but you might be able to swap the order and check that User > JE Approval Subsidiaries CONTAINS Subsidiary (Main)?

That no longer is an option once that field is populated with more than one option on any record strangely enough.  Either way, I’ve tried that as well with the exact same results.

I’ve never been able to get multiselect fields to work correctly with workflows. I’d suggest writing a script that takes that field and populates a box on the transaction, and then use that as your criteria.

Then you can keep your workflow as is.

I think I understand what you’re getting at.. create a script on load that checks if the JE subsidiary is in the list on the user record, and if it is set a boolean on the JE as true.

My concern would be what if there is multiple people viewing it at once, could cause issues.
