Trouble with adjusting On Hand qty

Hello! New to Netsuite and trying to clean up our inventory of over 7000 products… We have quantities ‘On Hand’ over what we actually have —

Example : item x shows 606 On Hand (without a bin location) but we only have 250 available (after a physical count)

My question is, how do i adjust that ‘On Hand’ quantity ? since it doesn’t have a Bin Location, Inventory Adjustment will not allow me to adjust the inventory..

Why won’t inventory adjustment  allow you to adjust the inventory?  That is the standard way to modify quantity on hand.

But what if the quantity is over on what we actually have ?   How do i clear that extra 356pcs we have ‘On Hand’ if it does not have a Bin Location?

There’s an accounting preference to require bins on transactions besides item receipts, sounds like that may be enabled for you.

You could perform a bin put away for these items to put the qty in a bin and then adjust our. Otherwise I might try pushing to disable the preference for this type of large correction

There is a ‘Bin Management’ feature available which enables user to divide inventory bin-wise. Also, there is a ‘Use Bin’ check box available in ‘Purchasing/Inventory’ subtab in an inventory record and in location record. Even after enabling ‘Bin Management’ feature it’s up to you to decide for which items you want to use it and for which locations. So, either you have checked ‘Use Bin” check box for the item you want to adjust, or you check that box for that location you want to adjust the item for. Hence it is not allowing you to adjust without providing bin details. you must uncheck those boxes.
