Need help connecting SDF from VS Code

I have just installed VS Code with the SDF plugin for the first time, and am having trouble connecting to NetSuite.  I think I have all the necessary setups done in NetSuite (SuiteCloud, SDF, OAuth2.0 enabled, and standard Developer role assigned).  When I try to do a Set Up Account action, my browser shows me I am logged in to NetSute, and prompts me to go back to VS Code.  But what I get there is a message that”Something went wrong with ‘Set Up Account'”  And when I select the See Details button, the error disappears with no further information.

Can anyone out there help me get this off the ground?

Have you tried connecting with the SDF CLI tool for Node or Java? Could you try using one of those to authenticate and report back?

Are you seeing errors in the console related to the SDF connection? If you are running on a corporate NetSuite that is locked down, you may need to install additional certificates in your local Java trust store.
