Make Custom Field (Not Stored) Visible on Form

I have a custom field that is not a stored value because I’m using a formula. It shows the dynamic value in searches, but not on forms. Is it not possible to show the value of a non-stored field on a form?

Yes it won’t show on the form by default if store value is not checked for the custom field.

Ok, thanks.

Actually, now I’m not so sure, because I have a custom item field that isn’t a stored valued, just a formula, and it displays a value on the form.

For a non-stored value field based off a formula it should be available in both saved search and in the UI.  Check out “Creating Formula Fields” SuiteAnswer Id: 10081 for more info.

For a non-stored value field based off a saved search it WILL be available in the UI, but will NOT be available in search. Check out “Creating Custom Fields with Values Derived from Summary Search Results”

Hope that helps!

I’m basing the field just on a regular formula, not a search. Regardless, it should show up in the UI either way. But I’m only seeing the result displayed in searches, not on the form. Still not sure why. I don’t see any setting for this in the SuiteAnswers article you referenced. My assumption is it should display by default, but it’s not.
