Issues with Paycom API Integration and NetSuite IP Whitelisting

I have (tested) valid Paycom API credentials that I want to use in a SuiteScript integration.

The challenge is that Paycom claims they need to whitelist specific IP addresses or IP address ranges. Since NetSuite instances have IP addresses dynamically assigned via a CDN, we (and NetSuite) do not have static IPs available for this purpose.

Has anyone here successfully managed to connect NetSuite to an external API with similar whitelisting restrictions, and how did you overcome this?

If you’ve done this with Paycom specifically, that would be even better, but I’m also open to general suggestions for securing this integration. We’ve considered alternatives like API keys or OAuth if Paycom supports it, but I’d love to hear from others who’ve tackled this.

One potential solution is to use a middleware server with a static IP to act as a bridge between NetSuite and Paycom. This server would handle the API requests from NetSuite and forward them to Paycom, allowing you to maintain a secure connection while bypassing the dynamic IP issue. Another option could be to work with Paycom to explore alternative authentication methods, like OAuth or API keys, as you mentioned. Some companies also use VPNs or proxy servers to manage whitelisting requirements in similar integrations.
