Import Leads and Contacts Simultaneously
Hi, I want to import via CSV a list of leads and contacts simultaneously. I know NetSuite allows you to do this. On the field mapping, you can add fields for multiple contacts. However, if I have multiple contacts for a company, it’s creating duplicate leads/companies, with one contact assigned to each duplicate instead of all contacts consolidated under one lead/company.
Does anyone know how to fix this? It seems nonsensical to allow for the creation of multiple contacts if it causes a bunch of duplicates.
I recommend multiple imports,
Round 1 Companies
Round 2 Contacts for those companies
Alternative is multiple files like @abbott pointed out.

Got it, thanks!

The problem I keep running into when I try to upload once with multiple files is that it won’t let me use Company as the link between the two CSVs. I get the error “Invalid company reference key.”
I assume this is because when the lead is created, the company name is appended with a number to give it a unique Customer ID, and that Customer ID is what is needed in the Company field of the contact. It’s trying to set the Company field on the contact with just the plain company name. And there is no way to have the Customer ID ahead of time since you’re importing/creating the lead and contact at the same time.

Hi,
Are you doing this with multiple imports or using Import Multiple Files, as described here:

Thanks,
