Has anyone developed a script to identify where a field is used?

I want  a script that finds all places that a field is used. I want to look at saved searches, reports, SuiteScripts, SCA Themes,  SCA fieldsets, workflows, and maybe more. Before I start to work on this I want to find out if this already exists.

StrongPoint does this, and has a lot of nice features, but it’s expensive.

I’ve also heard that Fastpath can as well, but haven’t validated.

Note – no matter what solution you go with – anything in a locked/hidden bundle renders the scripting invalid related to that bundle.

Strongpoint.io has a product that might be what you are looking for. They have a free trial.

Thanks for the quick response. I have just reviewed the StrongPoint webinar and it looks like it should do what I need. Do either of you use this product? Is it as advertised? I have a call scheduled with them this week. Again, thanks for your help. This is my first time using this site and I can see it may be a great source in the future.

I haven’t had a chance to use the product. I signed up for a free trial but changed employers and my previous boss didn’t seem interested to pursue it. Contact Amy Carlson to set up a free trial.

I used StrongPoint back when it was called FloDocs in a project that NetSuite professional Services and another developer had customized the daylights out of to make sure I didn’t step in anything. It worked mostly as advertised, but wasn’t quite super digestible unless you had a scripting background (i.e. standard users wouldn’t get much of anything out of it)

Also – it was a little clunky at times, but it did some pretty cool things. I did not use the change management aspect of it.

One of my main complaints is likely resolved with SS2.0 and Map/Reduces instead of a scheduled script – and that was that it took forever to run – and nothing else could run while it was mapping out all the customization.
