Custom Price Level Fields/Columns? Different Solution?

The company I work for (a distributor) has set different price levels for each customer and they want to be able to issue sale prices that are not a % discount during specified sale date ranges.

For example, Item A is normally sold to Customer B at $2.15 and Customer B requests $0.50 off for one week. We want Item A at price level Customer B to become $1.65 on sale start date and revert to $2.15 after sale end date. If I could store sale price, return price, start date, end date right there in the price levels section, my life would be so much easier.

Is there a way to create custom item fields within the price levels section?

Does anyone have an alternate suggestion?

We’ve also been thinking maybe a script that reads a CSV daily and updates as needed. CSV contains only item identifier, description for human reference, price level identifier, regular price, sale price, start date, end date.

You can maintain a temp item price for a customer (or customer group or item group) via List/Effective Date Pricing.

Create a record for your customer and item combi incl. start and end date. In a Price Detail Update record you can mention the new price and currency.

A daily script will take of the correct price during this period and will set the price back after end date.

Good luck!
