Custom Internal Theme

Users are requesting a  night theme or “light on dark” color scheme for NetSuite, similar to other apps or browsers with a Dark Mode.  They have been using a chrome dark mode extension but it causes issues with the functionality of certain message fields in the Case/Message forms.

Is there a way to create and distribute a custom color theme like this for internal users?

Anyone know of any SuiteApps that have this?

This can’t be done without scripting that modifies the DOM a heavily discouraged activity. (NS does not support it if you’ve done it and have issues)

You can make a custom theme, but it would only be useable on external facing pages, not for internal consumption.

Also – changing your themes is something I always like to show client employees so that they can feel a little ownership over their NS account. I would try to discourage a client from enforcing this – with the exception of sandbox and telling employees to make sure it’s a different color from production whenever they log in to it. ( I generally recommend orange, but that always falls flat with college football fans with orange colors)

However – there are extensions in Chrome that you can install that invert colors. Those would be local to each user’s machine.

Chrome extension Dark Reader does a decent job, but a few pages can look a little strange.

I made this dark theme CSS injector for Netsuite via an extension called Stylish if you wish to check it out:
