Can you set the preferred journal form when posting time?
Hi, in my NetSuite account I have set a custom entry form as the preferred form for my journals. This works fine apart from when I post time. The journals that are generated when I post time use the standard journal form. Is there any way that I can change this?
When you set a preferred form that form becomes the default for that subtype.
Enabling the Custom Form Field will allow you to switch between forms for that subtype of record. That would be the most logical resolution.
I know preferred can be restricted depending on the role if you do not have the overall “Form is preferred” option checked, so if you are entering time as a different role this could be an easy solution. Make it preferred based on role. Make a separate form preferred based on the time entry role, which I would imagine may be Employee Center.
Aside from that you could look into conditional workflows to where if a field is populated with value A then the form type is “Time Entry” or something.
There is many ways to work around this, it’s just figuring out the little connections in between these forms, journals, and how you have implemented them, then navigating the easiest way in between these.
