Advice needed on Retail POS (especially with medical devices)

Is anyone here in retail AND in the optical space? We’re doing an analysis on our existing POS system (Lightspeed) and trying to figure out if we can update it to work better with our NS configuration or if we should be looking at a new POS system. If you’re not specifically in optical, perhaps you’re in medical devices so you have to be HIPPA compliant (prescription eyeglasses fall under this) and you have a solution you can talk about. Our biggest issue is that we need to get specific information relating to the way the glasses should be built that we need to track specific to each person (currently a custom record in NS attached to customer). Lastly, if you don’t fall into either of these categories, but you’re still in retail, I’d love to get some feedback on the solutions you have. We have a combination of cash sale purchases and sales orders that come from our retail environment. Thanks!!!
