RE: Tracking Automatic Emails from NetSuite

We have an email that sends our customers their invoices once these are generated on the first of the month, this needs to be adjusted. I am unsure what system we are using to automatically send these messages. Is there a way that this can easily be tracked down?

They are sent from an employee created to be used for “Bulk-Email” but I can’t find any type of system information how the emails are being generated to adjust the ongoing process.

Any information how I could track this down?

If you can get hold of the full headers from an original email, there are a couple of headers added by Netsuite which can be helpful.

X-NetSuite will contain the message source, ie. t=SearchEmailTask (scheduled saved search), t=SuiteScript, etc

If it’s a saved search, there will be another X-MailingID header which contains the ID of the saved search.

If you can’t get hold of an original email, it may be worth locating one in Setup > Company > (Communication) Sent Email List, finding the message ID and asking Netsuite Support if they can identify the origin.

I would like to shake your hand, sir. I just spent an hour looking for the source of this email to a user of mine before finally Googling it and finding your answer. Thanks for this!
