RE: Can NetSuite eliminate the Schedule script? though we have map/reduce.

This is my curious question?

Can NetSuite eliminate the schedule script because there have Map/reduce script with better performance. means is there any specific need of schedule script now that’s why NetSuite still have keep it.

you mean backward compatibility is the only strong  reason to keep it otherwise we can achieved everything with map/reduce that we can do via Schedule script.

I’m not sure I’d say it’s the *only* strong reason. Both script types can be triggered on a regular schedule or on-demand via the `N/task` module. The Map/Reduce is specifically designed with large datasets and parallelization in mind. If all you need to do is perform a scheduled task on a small data set, the Map/Reduce is wildly overkill. The Scheduled Script will likely accomplish the task with less code and less time in the processor queue.
