RE: Auto lot numbering query
Hi everyone,
Im trying to set up auto lot numbering for our incoming deliveries. I have set up the lot numbering sequence I want to use which is simply a text GRN followed by a sequential number.
However on enabling the auto lot numbering, it only keeps a sequence related to that item record e.g.
Item A lot 1 is receipted and gets GRN110000
Item A lot 2 is receipted and gets GRN110001
Item B Lot 1 is receipted and gets GRN110000
Item B Lot 2 is receipted and gets GRN110001
I want the sequential number to be for all items, not for individual items e.g.
Item A lot 1 is receipted and gets GRN110000
Item A lot 2 is receipted and gets GRN110001
Item B Lot 1 is receipted and gets GRN110002
Item B Lot 2 is receipted and gets GRN110003
Is there anyway of doing this or am I stuck with auto lot numbering against individual items?
I haven’t really used it extensively, but have you checked out the Lot Auto Numbering SuiteApp? “Lot Auto Numbering SuiteApp” SuiteAnswers ID 100706. My understanding is that lot numbering is always per item and not global across all items. Theoretically, with the SuiteApp you can add item information and custom pieces into the lot numbering format though, so maybe that’ll work, depending upon your use case.
