RE: Assembly build item to a inventory item

Does anyone know of a work around to convert a assembly build item to an inventory item?
We have found a manufacturer who can now purchase the complete item from rather than doing an assembly build item. Now that its an inventory item we need to somehow superseded the old item so we dont lose the sales history etc,
Is this possible? Are there any enhancements or work arounds?
That is not possible BUT you can just turn on the option to allow purchase of the Assembly Item itself:
To make assembly items available on purchase transactions:
- Go to Setup > Accounting > Preferences > Accounting Preferences.
- Click the Order Management subtab.
- In the Work Orders section, check the Allow the Purchase of Assembly Items box.

The issue is that we’re trying to work with Netstock to do our product forecasting but the transfer of PO’s and info between Netsuite and Netstock isnt working because it wants to assembly build items whereas the PO’s to manufacturers are coming in as inventory items,
Are there any enhancements, bundles etc that will fix this?
We’ve done some testing, looks like its the same when you try change a assembly build item to a kit or vice versa
