RE: Email Notifications Issue
I have a customer that we get orders via EDI. This customer is receiving email notification as well as the EDI notification of order creation and shipment and invoice. They want to no longer receive the emails. I can not figure out why they are receiving these messages. Here is where I have looked.
Customer Record:
– Send Transaction Via (email, Print and Fax) all unchecked
Sales Order:
– To be emailed unchecked (but to my unserstanding this happens when The Email is sent)
What I have done
– Emailed my EDI connection support to look into mapping for orders.
If anyone has any idea where to look to stop the emails from sending let me know.
The problem seems to be with the Email option in the Customer Record. Even though all options are unchecked, the system might still be sending emails due to a configuration issue or a bug.
Here are the steps you can take to investigate and resolve the issue:
1. Check Customer Record Configuration:
- Double-check the Send Transaction Via options in the Customer Record. Ensure that all options (Email, Print, and Fax) are unchecked.
- Look for any hidden or additional email settings within the Customer Record. Some systems might have advanced options or custom fields that could be triggering email notifications.
2. Verify EDI Mapping:
- Review the EDI mapping for this customer. Ensure that the email notification settings within the mapping are configured correctly.
- Check if there are any additional conditions or triggers in the mapping that might be causing emails to be sent.
3. Inspect System Logs:
- Look for any error messages or warnings in the system logs related to email notifications for this customer.
- Check if there are any specific events or actions that might be triggering the email notifications.
4. Consult with EDI Support:
- Provide your EDI support team with detailed information about the issue, including the customer’s details, the types of emails being sent, and any relevant system logs.
- Ask them to review the EDI mapping and configuration to identify any potential causes of the problem.
5. Consider a Temporary Solution:
- If you cannot immediately resolve the issue, you might consider temporarily disabling email notifications for this customer. This can be done by creating a new email address specifically for this customer and configuring the system to send emails to that address. You can then monitor the emails and disable the address once the issue is resolved.
