Nesuite Saved search result API
I’m currently working on a google chrome extension, mostly for myself and I had this idea to make a google chrome extension that inject a button in NetSuite and then when clicked export the data of the saved search result in XLSX format.
But I’m stuck with the API, and I don’t know which one to use since I don’t want it to be personal nor specify just one Saved search ID the injection and download part of my code is working fine just the export of data that’s coming from the API that seems to have the issue.
Ok, I created that extension, so will be glad to answer any questions. To answer the API question, the extension does not actually interact with the NetSuite API at all. It uses the same mechanism that NetSuite natively uses and downloads the older Excel version format and then converts it to Excel 2007+ locally using a library called SheetJS.
Oh, I see and what is that mechanism that NetSuite natively uses to download the older excel version ?
So rather than making the API call to download the result from the API response and than call back the XLSX library to convert it you take that mechanism and converted directly that is a great idea I was stuck in my head with the API call to interact with netsuite thanks for the insight (Your extension is really great)

Yes, Sorry I was not clear I’m trying to make the same extension for myself to see how it works but thanks for the response I’ve been inspired by this extension to make mine !
