adding a record using api

hey working on adding a record from my app using SOAP 
first can it be done also with  REST?

secondly can you help me with the authorization process

currently I’m unable to send a request because i need a certificate?

I cant find anything about that in the documents.

Almost all record are now supported through REST Web Services.

There are different types of authentication – is your app more machine-to-machine or user focused?

Hey thank you for the respond.

1. is there any reason why I should use SOAP instead of REST?
2. If I understand you’re meaning its more machine-to-machine, that is I only need to authenticate myself (my app) not any user.
