Mass delete custom records
I am trying to delete over 100 records from a custom record I created. It only allows you to update on the mass update page
This is a guide with screenshots that you can reference as well.
Never mind the last comment. I figured out how to multi select
For reference, since it’s not obvious at all, to do multiselect you have to:
- Think which row A you want to be the start of the selection.
- In that row, left click on one of its fields that lie within an editable column (one whose header has a pencil icon). The field will become a textbox with a cursor, but that’s not relevant.
- Think which row B you want to be the end of the selection.
- Press SHIFT and without releasing, in that row, left click on its field in the same column as mentioned above.
- The visible result should be a thin dashed rectangle stretching from row A to row B, only in the clicked column.
At this point the row range is selected and on clicking “Delete Record” in the dropdown appearing when hovering somewhere in the “NEW” column, NetSuite will display a confirmation dialog and on confirming – will really delete the entire range.
Phew… Not obvious at all…
I’ve been using NetSuite for 20 years and I never new multi-select for deletes was available. I feel like an idiot, but thank you for the post!
You can try the mass delete option that uses in line editing of saved searches. Create a saved search for the records if you are able to use inline editing, you can select multiple lines at the same time (similar to the multi-select functionality in Excel, selecting groups of lines using the CTRL or SHIFT key). Once you have selected the group you want to delete, on the far left hand side use the green button to choose delete record. Again, this is all dependent on being able to use inline editing on a saved search for your record.
Instead delete the records, you can inactivate the records. So you can use netsuite’s Mass update and update all records at once.
If u realy delete records, maybe you can use a simple script to delete all records at once.
