Send email notifications on project tasks

Answered

Hello,

I am trying to add the checkbox “Notify Assignee By Email” to my project tasks.  It’s an option for regular “Tasks” but not project tasks.  Can someone assist? Screenshots below.

Thanks!

NS doesn’t provide this checkbox functionality on the Project Task. But there’s a workaround to send an email alert when a resource is assigned to a Project Task using Saved Searches. You would also find this answer in NS help answer id: 45594 (https://netsuite.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/45594/kw/project%20task%20email)

Solution:

To create an email alert when a Project Resource is assigned to a Project task:

  1. Navigate to Lists > Search > Saved Searches > New
  2. Click on Project Task
  3. On the Criteria tab, add the following:

    Select Project Task Assignment fields..
    –On the popup, choose Resource
    –S
elect the name of the Resource

  4. On the Results tab, add the following:

    –Name
    –Project
    –Date Created
    *Add more fields if necessary

  5. On the Email tab:

–Check the Send Email Alerts When Records are Created/Updated box
    –Add Recipient/s
–Go to Customize Message tab and add a message

  6. Name the Search
  7. Click Save & Run
