Display custom fields in customer center

I have created a non-stored custom field that is sourced from the selected customer on an invoice and want to display that field in the customer center. The field shows on cash sales, but I cannot get it to display on invoices. Is it possible to show custom fields on invoices in the customer center?

It is possible to display custom fields on the invoices – however – you are not going to be able to source from the customer record as you can’t grant access to the customer record to see it.

You’ll likely need a script/workflow to populate into a stored value field in order to display it in the customer center.

I found out that the internal (not external as you would expect) invoice form stored on the record controls the placement of the field, but not the visibility. I had to create a workflow and explicitly set the field display to Normal to get the field to display on the invoice on the customer center. Oddly enough, the workflow was only needed for invoices that were using a custom form. Any invoices using the standard form were working even though both forms were configured the same.
