Best Pracitices for Data Dump
I need to create backups of all Purchase Orders, Journal Entries, and GL data for one specific subsidiary. Would you usually just go to those pages and export to Excel or filter using a Saved Search, and then export? I just want to make sure I’m not missing any data from any of the historical records.
Formatting the ‘Results’ tab on a Saved Search means finding every field across all tabs and making sure they’re in there. Will take a very long time.
Creating a saved search would be the best choice and would help you in the long run for any data import or export. You try downloading the full CSV backup but in my opinion it is totally useless. I have been using saved searches for instance migration and any new implementation for many years, that is the preferred method – most of the NetSuite veterans will agree with me.
