Write off in bulk AP transactions


I need to write off a lot of A/P transactions. I was thinking of creating a bulk journal and upload it via CSV but then I am unsure how to allocate this journal to open bills/payments/journals on vendor records (as it almost will be impossible to do it manually due to the number of open transactions).

Can please someone share their experience or what is the best practise to generally write off A/P?

could be done through credit memos. although it would really depend on your specific requirements. would’ve been better if it could be discussed in detail.

Hi, thank you for your answer. Would that be credit notes created against each vendor and allocated to open bills? Should I then use a write off account on the credit notes?
Also, how to approach unallocated payments, journals, credit notes?
