Ship to contact address from sales order

I am trying to find out if it is possible to use a contacts address for a sales order ship to address. Is this possible?

Contacts can have a default billing and default shipping address but i cannot for the life of me see the purpose of this if it’s not available in the sales order shipping address drop down?

I have just heard back from Netsuite that this has been filed as an enhancement under #100216.
