Saved Search: Other Relationships
Hello is there any way in saved search criteria where I can determine if a customer record has other relationships with vendor record? thanks.
Yes. You are basically there.
Create your saved search from the customer table.
Criteria: Other Relationships > Vendor
This will narrow your search down to customers who also have a vendor record linked via the “Other Relationship” feature native to NetSuite. To see what other entity types are related to your customer(s) you can also multi-select Partner and Other Name in the criteria.
You can start your search from other tables as well to see their “Other Relationship”. (e.g. Vendor, Partner, Other Name)
However, to create a search from Other Name table, you have to start on the “Company Table”, regardless of whether the record was created for a company or an individual. All you need to do is selected
Criteria: Type > Other Relationships
This is also the way to see all your entities (Customers, Vendors, Partners, Other) in one search. Simply do not specify a type in your criteria. There used to be a way to see all entity types using the Company table but it has been deprecated as far as I know. It was called Primary Type and it listed everything (Company, Contact, Customer, Employee, Generic Resource, Group, Manufacturing Project, Other Name, Partner, Project, Project Template, Resource Group, Vendor. Remember 2 things:
- NetSuite treats a job (Project) as an entity
- Competitors are also an entity but do not appear in the Company table
- Competitors can be accessed via their own table aptly named Competitor
- Each of the following entities can be reached via their own table:
- Contact, Customer, Employee, Generic Resource, Group, Manufacturing Project, Partner, Project, Project Template, Resource Group, Vendor.
