Sales Orders Committing Inventory
Is there a way for Sales Orders to commit inventory without approving the order? We have a workflow set to auto approve Sales Orders that come down from SuiteCommerce so we have an accurate inventory available on the website. This seems clunky though and that we’re missing a setting somewhere that commits the order to inventory before approval.
Not to my knowledge. I typically see E-commerce companies do this to provide customers a grace period in the event they were to cancel. If that is the purpose of your approval process, you might consider alternatives such as delaying the release of the order to your warehouse.
Thank you! We have two incredibly busy periods during the year where it’s crucial that inventory displayed on the site is accurate. Well stick with the workflow and I’ll figure out a better way to parametrize it.
No, we cannot commit sales orders pending approval. You can leverage order priority to commit and reallocate orders
