Next Approver Role in WorkFlow
I am creating a Workflow, and I need to set Next Approver Role… but can’t find the setting. I only see “Next Approver”, but not “Next Approver Role”… Am I missing something?
by default it is Next Approver (entity ) that is why you are not seeing the Next Approver Role. Best practice is to use Next Approver, if you want use Role as approver then create a custom list/record type field for User Role and use it in the workflow. Note that it would be troublesome to route approval if you use Role since you have multiple user having the same role.

do you happen to know how to post to GL in between states? Here is the current workflow
1- User creates and submits for approval
2- Controller approves and payment is on hold
3- Department head approves and payment is released
4- Bill goes to payment que.
The problem is, the bill isnt posting until AFTER the department head approves. We want the bill to post after the Controller approves. Between 2 & 3/
