Is there a way to set up an alternate BOM for an item?
I understand that after a BOM is updated it must be re-rolled to correct accounting, I also realize that an item can be discontinued and an effective date can be set for the new item taking it’s place.
What I’d like to do is create an alternate BOM with a different component and usage but has the same cost.
If you are not using advanced bill of materials, then no you cannot create alternate BOM for an item. This is very doable with advanced bill of materials enabled, but it is not something I would take lightly enabling.
Cool, I was thinking that could be an option, I know going forward we should be venturing this route. We do currently have another part of our company on the same license and understand it’s a global setting. Hopefully we’ll go this route. Appreciate it! Thanks
