Is there a maximum number of custom record instances supported in SDF?

Hi all,

I thought awhile back there was a maximum number of custom record instances that can be imported or tracked via SDF, around 100? Does anyone know if this is true? We have a few custom record tables that exceed 1000 records, and we are planning to handle moving that via a Bundle instead of SDF.

The SDF documentation does not state a maximum number, so wondering if anyone has encountered any issues?

Took a while, but I finally came across the documented limit. Its still only the first 100.

Interesting, so we are also running into issues where we have a large SDF project, we deployed it to a new account, got no errors and says installation was successful, but certain custom objects are NOT created in the account… could we be hitting a limit on the “installation” of this project?

I see there is something about the SDF project needing to be under 50MB, but these XML files are extremely lightweight…

^ So we got a very weird string in the SDF logs in Eclipse… looked like Wingdings… and we misinterpreted that for a “success”.  There is a new tab on the Customization –> SuiteCloud Development –> Deployment Audit trail that shows you whether your deployment was successful or failed with the log files attached. We saw that the deployment actually did fail, and got the actual errors in the log file in the account.

So far, still have yet to find the limit for record instances! But at least I can confirm deployments are “all or nothing” – either the entire project is deployed or none of the objects are.
