How to disable editing of a Customer’s address from a sales order form
We do quite a bit of drop shipping to our clients which then requires a once off/custom address on the sales order which is easily achieved by selecting ‘Custom’ from the shipping address drop down. However too many time we are having users click the pop-out or plus symbols next to the Ship To drop down which is then editing or added this address to the customer card. I need to be able to disable the pop-out symbol/being able to edit the customer addresses and would like to remove the Plus/Add symbols as well. Any help on how to achieve this would be much appreciated.

I set the ‘Customer’ permission on a sales role to ‘Create’ which prevents the role from editing/modifyin that Address Card pop out option, user can still view it but the override check box is non clickable including the default billing/shipping etc..
They can still select custom to modify the address as a one off.
Neither the Bill To Address and Deliver To Address didn’t change any or add new address on the customers account when i checked. From my testing it works if i understood your case correctly.

Thankyou however we need the users to still be able to edit the customer just that they should not be doing it from the sales order page.
