How to build BOM cost report?
Where using average costs we also want to build a costing report for the active Bom Revisions. We have multiple assembly levels using Phantoms.
We would require to see all sub components displayed with their current average costs and required quantities. Preferably we could build this as a saved search (item filtered to a single item) so that we could easily export the data.
We are considering using the Item Defined Cost field (costestimate) as a place holder for periodically benchmarking the costs. If there were a way to roll up costs to this field periodically it would be great.
We realise that perhaps we should have implemented with Standard costs, but the finance team at the time were not onboard with that.
Currently the only method we can see to get a cost is to use Build Assemblies but are unable to export to Excel.
If anyone has experience with this sort of report some guidance would be awesome.
You can create a custom sublist field and use the source functions to get to the item record, then return a costing method.
Unfortunately this method can’t be applied to the actual Revision record, however this should get you the data you need for your report.
