How to apply the same standard cost of an item to all locations?
How to apply the same standard cost of an item to all locations? Mass update? CSV? Script?
Item master has the standard cost held at each location. We populated it for one location but will now need it at all locations. Will be the same value. How to? Thanks!
We have this issue also.
Apparently Group Average Costing would do this – but you cant change the costing method once chosen.
Netsuite Website says:
Group average costing lets you track one average cost for an item across multiple locations within a defined group. Group average costing is available only when you have enabled the Multi-Location Inventory feature. Group average costing is available for inventory items and assembly items.
What we are most likely going to have to do is export the standard costs for the items of the location you wish to use as your source ‘master’ location , and then do a csv import setting all the other locations’ standard cost to that value.
However, If you don’t have a ‘master’ location in which contains all the costs (e.g… location x is the source of std cost for part 1 , location y is the source of part 2 … ) then things get complicated and it becomes a very manual process to get the csv import file to a level that youre happy to import …
I use CSV uploads to import and update every location. Upload takes a bit but much easier then going one by one manually especially if you have several locations.
No need to have multiple files per item or location.
