Payment  Terms for  Customer & Vendor separately

Hi All, Is there a way to keep Payment  Terms for  Customer & Vendor separately?

Either via default settings or via scripting.

Thank You!

From my understanding in our case,

We set the Terms of each Customer in Finanicial subtab section of their account.

We set the Terms of each Supplier in the ‘Primary Information’ section of their account.

This make it their default / Primary Terms used upon any transaction that involvesTerms.

If it needs to be altered then you change it on the Sales/Invoice/Bill etc… stage so its only for that specific transaction.

To add new Terms then  go to Setup > Accounting > Accounting Lists > New > Term

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the detailed answer! But the Client doesn’t want to list all the terms.

For eg: If we have 10 Payment Terms, 5 for Customer & 5 for Vendors,

When we come to Customer Record, he should see only those 5, not all.

Similarly in Vendor Record, he should see only other 5.

Is this possible to do in NetSuite or is it something illogical as the customer has the right to choose from the Terms List?

Might be possible with scripting but i don’t have the expertise to confirm.

FYI – From my knowledge (year n half) and just quickly messing around in sandbox to see what Lists, Records & Fields could be applied against a customer/supplier.

I tried a custom entity field – Sourcin & Filtering subtab but couldnt think of a way. Only able to set a default selection upon creation of new customers/vendors but not limit the results.

Customers/vendors often share same terms and only takes a second to choose. How many terms you have?  If any one else knows more let us know as its a good question.
