Fixed Assets Management: Attaching a New Component to a Compound Asset

I have a created a compound asset for a specific location and site.  I added two components to it that added to 20K. When I created the compound Asset, it automatically set the asset original value to 20K.

Now when I keep adding components,, the Total Asset Original Costs and Total Asset Current costs of the Compound Asset is not updated with the amount of the component that I recently attach. Is this normal behavior?

I’m trying to fix it or find any other better way to create parent assets. I have different locations with multiple sites. The idea is to create a parent asset for each location + site and then start adding components to them.
