Anyone found a clean way to get live NetSuite data into Excel? We rebuild reports weekly and it’s getting repetitive.

We’ve been using NetSuite for over a year now but our month-end still relies heavily on exporting data to Excel. Every week we rebuild the same reports like cash flow summaries, budget vs actuals, and department-level P&Ls just to get them into the format leadership wants.
It’s become a repetitive cycle and causes version issues. We’ve tried Saved Searches and dashboards but they don’t give us the flexibility Excel does.
Has anyone found a reliable way to connect Excel to NetSuite for live data that works well for finance teams?
You can use excel web query for the reports. Also, you can get one of the following applications:
- Celigo cloud extend https://www.cloudextend.io/products/extendinsights/netsuite/
- Solution 7 Excel addons – https://www.solution7.co.uk/
- InsightSoftware’s Spreadsheet server https://insightsoftware.com/spreadsheet-server/
You can also use PowerBi to connect to NetSuite for better reporting.
Same here – manual exports got tiring fast. ODBC worked but was a pain to set up. Ended up using a cloud tool to sync data into Excel on a schedule. Tried Skyvia among others, worked fine for what we needed.

One way around this is to make sure the data feeding those reports is already clean, reconciled, and structured exactly how finance needs it so you’re not constantly re-exporting and massaging numbers.
