RE: Workflow Fundamentals course

So, I’m just starting on the Workflow Fundamentals course.

The first module exercise of the book, on which everything else is based, is to inspect a custom furniture request record in List, Records & Fields>Record Types.

It gives you a further option to create a new Furniture request in records, but for the life of me, and as I’m new to this, can’t find how to do it.

Is there a particular environment this is setup in? I’ve been using ERP and Administrator Fundamentals, Inventory Item Costing and Manufacturing, but this particular thing isn’t there.

Any idea how to bypass that, create one, or as a second route, to look somewhere for some practical hands on exercises to run through workflow setup?

Cheers,

Nick

I don’t have LCS pass anymore, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but a lot of those training are (or were) based on their in-person training courses that would give you a demo account, in which this might already be setup. I think it’s probably just a basic custom record though, so you could create it yourself. “Creating Custom Record Types” SuiteAnswer ID 10140 would be a good place to start if you’re unfamiliar.  That being said, if you’re not already familiar with custom records then you may want to spend some time gaining a little more practical experience building custom fields, forms, and records before you jump into workflows as at least one of those things has been involved in nearly every real-world workflow scenario I’ve ever been asked to build.
