RE: Workflow Error: SETFIELDVALUE [Warning: Value cannot be set in BEFORELOAD on already existing (not a new) record.]

Hi all,

I see this error when trying to automatically set tickets to close. It’s weird because sometimes this workflow works and then sometimes this error comes up. Does anyone know what this means? Whenever I look this up in SuiteAnswers nothing comes up.

Thanks!

What is triggering this workflow to fire, when someone opens up the ticket?  You cannot set a field value in before load of the workflow, only view them.  Sounds like an architecture problem, should probably setting them to closed a different way (like on a schedule).

The workflow is supposed to transition to this state after an hour (schedule) and then close the ticket (which is on entry actually, not before load, so don’t know why that error shows up).

I tried to do a schedule instead of on entry so it’s automatic, but it seems like it gets stuck and then never leaves the state. Or if it does leave the state, it sometimes takes more than 2 hours to leave it (even though we have it set to every hour).
