How can you merge 2 duplicate inventory item records? I can merge other record types, but cannot seem to figure out how to consolidate 2 inventory items.

Merging of Item is not supported in NetSuite.
what we had done was, Inactivate the old item record and adjust the inventory balance to the new item record.
