RE: Is there a way to delete a vendor record created through the customer “Other Relationships” field?

On each customer record, there is a field titled “OTHER RELATIONSHIPS“, which allows you to link different records to each other. I was trying to relate an existing vendor record to one of our customers. I edited the customer record, and then clicked on the plus icon next to the Other Relationships field. I then chose “Vendor”, thinking it would allow me to choose which vendor record to relate it to. However, it simply created a new vendor record with customer’s customer ID as the vendor ID. I then tried to delete the vendor record, but it failed due to the record having dependent transactions. I thought that was odd, as I just created it. I then looked at the system information, and found that the vendor record had the full system information history as the customer record. I’m not exactly sure what was done during the process, but it seems like the customer record and vendor record are almost merged. Is there any way to undo this relationship? Thanks for your help on this.

Forgot to mention: when I try to make the vendor record inactive, it gives me a generic error message telling me to contact support.

At this time, I don’t believe there is any method to delete or remove the “Other Relationship” once it is intact.  I summarized the peculiarities of using this feature in this article:

Thanks for the information, Marty. I will check out your article. Hopefully, NetSuite will address this at some point.
