RE: Information on Automating an Out-of-Stock Report to the Customer Contact
I’m just looking for reading materials on anyone who’s done something like an auto out-of-stock report to the Customer contact when an item they order is not going to be shipped.
A little background: We ship thousands of items daily so the volume is exponential. Currently we are manually figuring out which items are going to be out of stock and then emailing both the sales rep and the customer to see if they are A: OK with not receiving the product or B: wanting to sub a different product.
The volume is so large that it’s taking 1 person 6-8 hours a day to go through it. We have built a custom suitelet page but it’s still a manual process. Again i’m just looking for reading material or stories from people who have set something up that automatically looks at what is ordered, what will not be fulfilled or Committed, and then generating an email communication to send to Customer.
